Sanchez-Santiago

pintor

In Sánchez-Santiago's own words the secret of his success lies in the fact that he has remained pure himself by absorbing the natural elements of earth, sea and wind so intimately that he has become part of these elements himself.

His understanding of life has led him to practise different disciplines His credo ist hat the higher you aim, the farther you overlook the horizon.

The artist holds diplomas on yoga, feng shui, personal training, streching and nutrition. He won three timest he Spanish Championship of wind surfing and since the age of fourteen he has practised different nautic sports.

His agenda for expositions in foreign countries is full of commitments: he has presented his works all over Europa and is now present in the United States and Canada, preparing moreover a first collection for Buenos Aires (Argentina).

For more than 15 years he has been present in Switzerland where he already earned several prices as a draughtsman and a painter.

But he is not only a painter but also involved in sculpture projects.

He takes part in international art exhibitions. His oeuvre continues being exposed in public and private collections, in museums and a certain number of art galleries.

The artist was born in Roses on October 12th, 1961, where he still lives most of the year.

He feels deeply rooted in the Ampurdan region: sand, wind and reed are his favourite motives.

Sánchez-Santiago is particularly fond of Sant Pere Pescador and Cap de Creus: both places offer wild sceneries where he discovers and recreates the multiple effects of the wind upon sand, sea and rocks.

The painter is an autodidact and his motives are recurrent. He loves ochre and brown tones which he mixes with sand, cement and varnish in order to obtain mat colours. He wants to express the purity of natural forms by using different disciplines and a great variety of materials.
